Two Awards - The Co-operative Group shows confidence in Morris & Spottiswood
The Co-operative Group held their first Food Property Awards last week to recognise the support of suppliers and partners to their business. The awards were underpinned by the values and behaviours the Co-operative Group has built its business on - even the trophies were made out of recycled materials. Proceeds from the awards evening went to Mencap and ENABLE Scotland.
Morris & Spottiswood were delighted to win two awards out of the ten awarded on the evening and we were also one of four short listed for Store Investment / Maintenance Supplier of the Year.
Outstanding Individual Contribution of the Year: Richard Magnall (Fitout, Warrington)
The Co-operative Group said:
‘Richard Magnall of Morris & Spottiswood has almost 100 store refits under his belt and knows the businesses values inside out. Richard has a calm demeanour and an uncanny ability to always find a way through any challenges - he makes sure the job is done well and on time. He communicates well with people at all levels to make sure they are happy and leads his teams to deliver beyond what is expected of them. Richard's passion for all things Co-operative means he is regularly consulted by others on best practice and how to implement improvements. Richard is an asset to both the Co-operative and Morris & Spottiswood'.
Richard commented:
"Can I please just add that no one individual can perform at a high standard without the support of a great team. Working for the Co-operative Group, I am fortunate enough to have that great team, in particular Jason Laws. Without his support and unending commitment to Morris and Spottiswood and the Co-operative Group, I / we would not have been so successful. So thanks to Jason also and the rest of our team. You all deserve the recognition we received".
Community Champion: Morris & Spottiswood
The Co-operative Group said:
‘Morris and Spottiswood have four main streams of charity and community work on a regional, individual, CSR and customer requested level. They utilise space on their vans to advertise charities that are important to their employees as well as raising money for charities such as Teenage Cancer Trust and Erskine, a charity caring for ex-servicemen and women in Scotland. They have made donations to a variety of initiatives local to their offices such as £12,500 for Yoker School and £25,000 to Summerston Acre Local Housing Area. On top of this they support charities and events close to their customer's hearts such as Mencap and ENABLE Scotland for the Co-operative Group'.
Chief Executive of Morris & Spottiswood, Chris Saxton conveyed his thanks to the whole team:
"I can't tell you how proud I was to see us receive these awards and huge congratulations and thank you must go to Richard on his award and to everyone in the business, in all three of our offices, who have been involved and contributed so much in delivering the Co-operative Group roll out workload. This is a great recognition by the Co-operative Group to all our teams. Well done everyone".
