Morris & Spottiswood helps replace Wellshot Primary's stolen cash
Our Housing division in Scotland has been carrying out building work and refurbishment for Glasgow Housing Association in Shettleston for nearly 2 years and has built up a great partnership with local school, Wellshot Primary.
The school held a Highland Games at the end of January, but the money raised was stolen in a shock break in at the school.
We recently donated a £1,500 Smartboard for the primary 1 class, but when we heard about this crisis, Housing donated an additional £1,000 to help replace the stolen funds.
School head teacher Jennifer McCluskey said: "We are extremely grateful to Morris & Spottiswood for the Smartboard they donated for our Primary Ones. The additional £1,000 has completely overwhelmed our staff, children and parents".
Chief Executive Chris Saxton comments: "We have built up a great partnership with the school.
"We were so impressed by the dedication and the commitment from teachers and the connection they have with the children. We wanted to encourage this positivity and show the school that their efforts were admired."
When we started building in the area, we kept in touch with the school to ensure that the children were aware of how to stay safe near our sites.
