This £2.2M project comprised the refurbishment of an existing steel portal framed shed and an extension to support Network Rail’s Maintenance Delivery Unit (MDU).
The design by BDG Architects in York, used shipping containers to construct a mezzanine floor providing office space for 82 desks, meeting rooms and break out spaces. The buildings creative design produced unique look & feel and was key in gaining the buildings BREEAM “Very Good” certification.
Despite the extremely challenging programme and unusual construction techniques, our team lead by John Storie (Project Manager) and Stuart Torrance (Site Manager), delivered a fantastic building to the clients demanding timescale.
Network Rail expressed their thanks to the Morris & Spottiswood Team “…for pulling out all the stops to get us in and working on time…”
