Apprenticeships
As a business we have recognised that there is a huge skills shortage in the construction industry. By delivering learning and career development opportunities, we can ensure a competent and dedicated workforce for the future.
We currently employ 54 trade apprentices in the business – including approximately 8 adult apprentices in the back to work programme – with 35 working either wholly or partly on local contracts (including housing associations).
In support of the ‘building better homes’ strategy, Morris & Spottiswood promotes and encourages links with local initiatives to encourage young people to join the construction industry and re-engage the long-term unemployed back into the industry, offering on-going training and employment opportunities for local residents.
