Newly Refurbished Leeds Office Opened by the Lord Mayor

We officially unveiled a major refurbishment of our Leeds office this month, with the opening ceremony gaining support from Leeds City Council as Lord Mayor Gerry Harper joined our celebrations. Though we have been operating out of our Leeds office since 2012, this £600k refurbishment allowed us to open up the space on the second floor, granting us further accommodation for a larger workforce in the New Year.

Operations Manager, Paul Morley, has confirmed that there will be four new senior appointments made in January, and as many as 60 new recruits are expected to join us in Leeds throughout 2017.

“The launch of our newly refurbished office signals our commitment to invest in both the North of England and its skilled workforce,” said Paul Morley. “The Leeds site will now become the main administrative hub and a strategic base to broaden our footprint across the North of England. We are looking to direct this growth with new appointments in January to our Mechanical & Electrical team including a quantity surveyor, mechanical engineer and project manager, as well as a senior contracts manager.”

“We passionately believe in serving local markets with a local supply chain, and directly employing local people in our regional offices.”

Lord Mayor of Leeds Councillor Gerry Harper said: “The construction sector in Leeds is responsible for large levels of employment. The region has benefitted greatly in terms of skill development, employment and wealth creation from a series of major projects in recent years including the likes of Victoria Gate Shopping Centre and the First Direct Arena.

“We are attracting more and more larger businesses and construction related firms due to the appetite for growth, regeneration and development in our city alongside the abundance of skilled tradesmen. Morris & Spottiswood is a fine example of a first-class business with ambitious projects to stimulate the local economy and we fully support their expansion plans.”
