We are currently recruiting a Proposals Manager to join our existing team of Professionals.

A great deal of our business depends on making the right impression at the pre-qualification/bid stage of the contract tendering process. We are seeking a Proposal Manager to take ownership of the bid proposal process, overseeing the proposal and bid strategies to ensure a cohesive process is followed.

Reporting to the Proposals Director, the successful candidate will have a proven ability in planning, producing, and delivering compliant proposals within a complex business environment. The Proposals Manager will be experienced in scheduling and running proposal kick-off meetings, facilitating key review meetings with internal stakeholders to coordinator the production of a completed and compliant proposal submission in the timescales required.

The role will assume line management responsibility of the proposals team to provide support and advice, and co-ordinate a wide range of information needed in a PQQ/Tender document, ensuring the contents are accurate and consistently well presented in design and content.

The role will monitor team performance and identify opportunities to coach/mentor the team Proposal Co-ordinators to drive continuous improvement.

Summary of Key Duties

  • Plan and allocate work to manage resources effectively to meet programme demands and deadlines
  • Co-ordinate activities with the team such that proposals, pre-qualification and tender support objectives are achieved to cost, quality and time
  • Liaise with Wider Business Teams o develop strategy for engagement at account and opportunity level, to support communications and ultimately opportunity conversion
  • Management of a comprehensive Bid Library to support all sectors of the business
  • Be the main point of contact for bid team members and ensure team members and stakeholders are briefed on development as needed

Experience / Background

Significant proposals experience is essential along with proficient bid writing experience. We are looking for someone with experience working in a similar role with experience of working and improving bid strategies & solutions. Working well under pressure and to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment is vital, as is the ability to interact with internal and external clients to deliver results. Construction experience is desirable.

We are seeking a candidate that can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact whilst driving improvements and efficiencies into our existing proposal response process.

The ability to work as part of a team, build effective working relationships and work under pressure is essential for this post to drive efficiencies.

This role may suit an experienced Senior Proposals Coordinator looking to develop their career into a management role. You must be confident at communicating at all levels, with exceptionally good communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Word, PowerPoint) is essential. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign) or similar packages together with the ability to customise written responses will be advantageous. The role may require minimal travelling between our other offices (Edinburgh, Leeds and Warrington).

This is a challenging opportunity for the right individual, as the Proposals Manager will need to support and collaborate with various parts of the business between business development and operations. As a member of the wider business development team this role will gain clear insight and access into where the business is headed and will act as a key member of the business development process.
