This project involved delivering a full range of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services for the refurbishment of the Automated Goods Vehicle (AGV) area at Britvic’s manufacturing facility in Rugby. Our M&E division undertook all the required design, installation and testing and commissioning works, including work on electrical sub mains and distribution boards, internal lighting & emergency lighting, general small power installations, fire alarms, earthing, containment and sprinkler systems. Significant costs savings were delivered to the client through the use of our in-house M&E teams.

"M&S have done a great job working in partnership with the Britvic project team to ensure the best proposal, plan, delivery and completion is achieved on time to the required quality and health and safety standards. Reporting of progress is robust with clear roles and responsibilities.”"

PARTNERSHIP WORKING DELIVERS SUCCESS

Alongside the M&E work, the project also included demolition works to the existing building and the construction of a new loading bay area extension. Works were undertaken in phases, with areas in each phase fully segregated using a scaffold structure surrounded in flame-proof sheeting. Extraction fans were used to create negative pressure to remove any dust particles and stop contamination.

Well managed and open communication across all levels of the project team ensured success. This was achieved through daily liaison and pre-planning meetings. A Key Account Management (KAM) strategy was also implemented. This involved the introduction of KAM dashboard reporting to drive operational actions across the project team. To reduce disruption, work was carried out during factory shutdowns and pre-planned maintenance periods.

The project was part of major transformational change at Britvic which will enable the company to enhance its capability and flexibility and introduce further innovations across its product range. As Britvic’s preferred construction services supplier, we have been involved in most aspects of this massive undertaking.
