Earn while you learn! Are you ready to kick start your career? If so, we have apprenticeships available with Morris & Spottiswood in a variety of trades including joinery and flooring. We strive to ensure you have the best exposure to all areas gaining valuable skills, knowledge and experience to help you succeed in your chosen profession. In return for your commitment, the company provide high quality training and support in an environment where you and your career can thrive.

Our Apprenticeship Programme opens in January each year so keep your eye on our page for future opportunities.

We recognise the importance of providing early career opportunities to attract new talent. Having trained over 500 Apprentices to date and with more apprentices being taken on this year across Morris & Spottiswood and subsidiary mechanical and electrical company Livingston Building Services, the apprenticeship scheme illustrates our commitment to providing a launch pad to develop construction skills and grow talent from within. The learning doesn’t stop when you reach the end of your apprenticeship. Trainees with aspirations to learn and develop further are offered opportunities to develop through the Company’s trainee development programmes (including HNC/HND and University qualification routes).

Susan Hughes, HR Director at Morris & Spottiswood said, “An apprenticeship in construction gives you the chance to earn while you learn, whilst gaining hands-on valuable experience in a fast-paced, thriving industry. We are proud that our investment in early career roles awarded Morris & Spottiswood the Platinum accreditation to the 5% club. This reinforces our commitment to attracting and nurturing the best talent through our apprenticeship, trainee and graduate development programmes. We understand that our team is the backbone of this business and in order to achieve our ambitious 10-year growth plan we recognise the importance of investing heavily from top to bottom to have the necessary skill and competence.”
