CNC / Beam Saw Operative, Whitstable

Objectives

We are looking for an experienced CNC / Beam Saw Operative to set up and operate CNC machines in order to manufacture parts according to design specifications.

Key areas of responsibility

  • To effectively communicate with the joinery team and key stakeholders within the business
  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to determine machine setup and cutting requirements
  • Monitor the machine during operation to ensure correct functioning, making adjustments as needed
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications
  • Perform regular maintenance on CNC machines
  • Report any malfunctions or issues with machines to the supervisor for repairs
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate protective gear (e.g., goggles, ear protection) and maintain a safe working environment
  • Undertake mandatory training as and when required
  • Complete overtime as and when required by the business
  • To consistently behave and interact in a way that supports the achievement of the company’s overall vision of creating a special place to work and in line with the values of the business

Qualifications and Person Specification

  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator
  • Understanding of CNC machine setup, operation and programming.
  • Ability to alter programmes (desirable)
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines or parts
  • Knowledge of machine maintenance procedures and safety standards
  • High standards of workmanship and an eye for detail to ensure quality finishes
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a workshop environment
