Today is International Women’s Day, but here at Morris & Spottiswood we are also celebrating Women in Construction Week. We place the highest priority on equality and continue to champion the role of women in construction, smashing the glass ceiling with a massive 1 in 5 of our workforce being female which is substantially above the national average of 1 in 8 (figure taken from CIOB’s Construction Manager Magazine, March 2021). We forge inclusive work cultures where women’s careers flourish and achievements are celebrated. Creating a work environment for all genders enables our firm to thrive. Our women work in a variety of roles within Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Human Resources, Finance, IT, HSQE, Business Development, Marketing, Proposals and Administration, and we also have female recruits in apprentice, trainee and graduate positions, as well as on the Trading Board.
